SUICIDE ON THE PARKING LOT OF CANDY FACILITY

BRIDGEPORT—Reports of a suicide happening on the parking lot of Rucker Candy this evening, 10.29.12, have been confirmed by official sources in Lawrence County.

Official sources have confirmed that Dee Diggs, a man in his late 50s who has been the personnel manager at Rucker’s for a long time and was nearing retirement, fatally shot himself on the parking lot tonight around 6 p.m.

Bridgeport police chief Scott Murray was the first responder to the scene.

Diggs, along with being personnel manager, was also a part owner in the business, after it had been split five ways by founder Rick Rucker not too long ago.

Disclosure sources waited unti family members had been notified before alerting us, hence the delay in reporting.
