SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND REPORTED ON MOUNTAIN ROAD

SALINE CO.—Earlier today, 10.26.12, a Saline County deputy responded at 3:30 to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot fatality on Mountain Road in the Garden of the Gods area.

When he arrived he found a 40-year-old man having shot himself in the head with a handgun. Saline County Ambulance responded and ultimately air evac helicopter was called, but the man died.

We’ve been advised that the family was finally fully notified late last night, so we can reveal that the victim’s name was Vince Edwards. Our sympathies to the family.
