FATAL ACCIDENT ON HWY 34 IN HEROD: PHOTOS

Multiple sources have advised that the victim’s name in this crash is Larry Thornton. According to these sources, Thornton, 21, was a dispatcher at Hardin County Sheriff’s Department. Below is the original post from yesterday evening.
POPE/HARDIN CO.—Officials are reporting to us that Highway 34 near Herod is closed down and traffic is backed up and being re-routed following a fatal accident involving a car and a semi truck on that road.
The crash occurred at about 5 p.m. Saline County and Pope County ambulances were called to the scene.
Our sources have advised that the coroner has been called, reportedly from Pope County, but the county hasn’t been 100 percent confirmed yet…when we get it, as well as more info comes in.

My Sister called from that area and said They had ask for a Coroner. Scanner traffic said coming in with a code.
Coroner was called out. We heard the Saline County deputy ask for him. The deputy was on this way to the shooting scene when the wreck happened.
