THE BATTLE CONTINUES: WE ARE WINNING THE SKIRMISHES. NEXT, THE WAR.
HEARTLAND—In case you haven’t figured it out yet, we have a second news product a little north a ways, Disclosure Heartland. This paper covers Coles, Cumberland, Clark and Edgar counties in the Fifth Judicial Circuit. The great Edgar County Watchdogs, who have a website wherein they’ve been doing roughly the same thing for the past year that we’ve been doing for nigh onto 10, helped inspire this separate paper. We’ve had a little bit of a rough way to go, losing our publisher after two issues, and Ang’s diagnosis at about the same time slowing things down greatly…but we’ve kept up the momentum in Edgar despite it. This, along with all the other obstacles the high-and-mighty believe they’ve placed in our way, like the seemingly-insane rantings of Jan Burno/Mills/whatever on topix, or the ongoing badmouthing by the now-FORMER EC deputy, local numbnuts Dee Burgin, has done nothing but to swell the support and readership of Heartland, particularly in Edgar County, and the other counties are now hearing about it regularly. In fact, since we’ve taken over Heartland, sales have increased by roughly 80 percent, and it appears as though that momentum will continue…meaning our circulation there is on the way up.
We have Stacey Deavers to thank profusely for a large part of that. Where others have caved due to pressure from the corrupt local government officials—which Edgar is awash in—Stacey has not. In short, Stacey’s got it going on:

This is the sign outside her shop, Safari’s Resale and Consignment on Highway 16 in Paris. When we were in there the other day taking her MORE papers (she’d already gone through a couple hundred in a week’s time) there were people coming in buying multiples of Heartland. As well, they were buying back issues, including the paper with crazy Jan on the front page (a picture tells a thousand words), as Stacey’s become a back issue vendor by demand, since it was the issue with crazy Jan (along with Dee Burgin and an errant EIU instructor) on the front that prompted so many vendors to back out.
Hey, we’ve been through it before. This ALWAYS happens when we come into a new area. It happened in March 2003 when we first began publication, when public officials went to vendors telling them that articles, about which we had sold proof in black and white, were “nothing but lies.” If we took a count of how many of those public officials were employed today in their teat jobs, we’d come up nearly empty-handed…because it WAS all true. It often takes time for people to realize this. Of course, our job is easier today, as we are photo-capable (we weren’t when we first started) and we can run scans of documents that others have either thought were successfully hidden, or want to make others believe they are. Still, closed-minded people are going to abound. We fight those fools more than we fight the corrupt public officials at times.
We succeeded in 2003, and we will succeed today. Just watch. As for others who’ve tried to stop us…they can’t. That’s been proven. It’s coming up in a front-page story in the next issue, which is on stands beginning a week from tomorrow, and you WILL be interested in it, guaranteed…& maybe a little stunned, and a little clearer on why Ang is as sick as she is.
