UPDATE on high-speed chase through Bridgeport yesterday (09.26.12)
BRIDGEPORT—No official charges have been filed yet in the crazed high-speed chase that went from Knox County in neighboring Indiana, across the bridge and into Lawrence County, and ultimately through the city of Bridgeport.
However, they’re probably coming soon unless prosecutor Lisa Wade is just too busy campaigning to keep her job.
Here’s a shot by a Disclosure reader, Tony Zapata, from yesterday and all the action on Olive Street in tha ‘port, as six or seven cop cars were in pursuit of the red vehicle on the left side of the photo…the one with the blown tire.
Note the tire marks/gouging in the road from the truck.
Zapata was in town for a funeral, of all things, when this crap lit up that side of Bridgeport, and Zapata, a photographer, was able to snap a couple of shots off.
Turns out the driver of the vehicle, Ricky Brochin, 31, reportedly of Bridgeport, had a Knox County warrant for his arrest (although because it’s Knox, we have no way of knowing what it is without going there—which we are in the morning, btw)—and it also turned out that when the tire on the truck, flattened due to stop-sticks deployed at some point (both Knox and Lawrence are quick to use the things; the ones that got him, however, were in Bridgeport), finally gave out, Brochin allegedly fled on foot but was apprehended quickly.
There was supposedly another person in the red truck, we’re hearing it was a female, but that’s not yet been confirmed. We’ll get it for you, and have it in the print version, on stands in less than two weeks!
