Police, helicopter activity observed in Hardin County: UPDATE

HARDIN CO.—We have multiple reports of a helicopter in the air about a half-hour ago (11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13) in the vicinity of Cox Funeral Home in the Stone Church area of Hardin County.

The area was at that time being searched by police, and it appeared someone was being taken into custody.

The helicopter was reported at about 11:30 to have left the immediate area.

UPDATE IN RED

According to some officials in Hardin, the property is owned by a Jeff Cowsert and his dad; we asked specifically if this were the school janitor Jeff Cowsert recently released on charges of threatening to shoot up a school in Harrisburg, our sources are saying no, this is a different one. This one has apparently had other problems in the past; we’ve got someone researching that right now.

There were numerous pot plants found on the property, all of them very young. A separate person other than Cowsert, NOT by the last name of Cullison (and related to the sheriff) but by the last name of COLLISON (we don’t have his first name yet), was said to be the grower of the plants, so it’s unclear whether the Cowserts knew of the existence of them or not.

We have people working on more details; if and when we learn them, we’ll bring them to you.
