Depends on what your view of it is…they’d been separated for a year, with apparent intent to divorce, and Michele was okay with that. She was in Florida visiting her mom when she got the news. She actually lives in Texas. She’s staying here for now; don’t know for how long.

Quick question-About 3/4 down in this article you mention that, “Jacob Wheeler’s wife, Michele Wheeler, was present with Jacob’s father Harold Wheeler.” So does this mean that he was having an affair? J/W

I wish I knew exactly where the crime scene location was. I understand some of our fellow journalists were taken out there last week. We weren’t able to get there because I was in Harrisburg & Ang was stuck at home. We might try to scoot out that way toward the weekend. As far as other nuggets, tho…we’re still working on verification of several. Because we’re getting ready to go into print version production, those may or may not hold for that product…it just depends on the timing in which we receive them. And yes, I do agree that simple booze won’t do that to a person. There’s a big puzzle piece missing. I can only hope they do have a prelim next week…but I have strong doubts.

A good read Mr. Howser. I’ll be renewing my subscription. Sorry I let it lapse. Can you provide me with a nugget? The crime scene location? Evidently, quite a few on here know of the campsite and I’ve tried to google-map it but no joy.
If the allegations are found to be true regarding the homicide during rape, I agree with the above comments that simple alcohol intoxication doesn’t trigger the commission of an evil act of that magnitude. There must be more to this.

There has to be more to this…..I know plenty of dipshits who get “drunked up” on the regular but would never do something this horrendous. Something has to have seriously triggered in this man, or he has had a “fantasy” about it…or worse yet, he’s done it before. (JUST speculation-no rumor wars here!!) But even your average daily drunk doesn’t just go DO something like this….there’s a LOT more to this. I have a feeling the next few months are going to reveal a lot about this man. Until all this I was a confident single woman who camped on the river with my kids without much concern…never again. Never…it’s just horrifying to think about.

…Coston got himself drunked up, shot and killed Wheeler, raped, shot, and killed Evans, hid the bodies, got his ass caught, and subsequently confessed…what is his understandably supportive, yet delusional family claiming that he is not guilty of?…he should man up and take responsibility for these abhorrent acts, plead guilty, and save the families the pain and spectacle of a trial…may the victims rest in peace, justice be swift, and the families (even Coston’s) find the strength to deal with this horrible situation…

I’m not sure where that farmhouse is. I need to have Ang take me out there…she knows her way around that place like the back of her hand. White County is pretty bad for meth, but not for lack of trying to control it on the part of the police/deputies and the prosecutor; they’re all fairly tough on it. But no, there was no meth involved in this…at least, not a meth lab, nor any aspect of that. I wonder if there’s going to be a blood draw to see what’s in Coston’s system; meth and other controlled substances stay in the system for quite a long time. We’ll see.

I have a question Jack. Whatever became of the old abandoned farmhouse, that had been vacant for a very long time, that lights were seen in? I read Your Paper and see White County is One of the worst places for meth. I also know the State’s Attorney said pretty quickly that it had nothing to do with Jacob & Jessi coming into contact with such. What is Your thoughts on that? Thanks.
