NO TRUTH TO THE METH LAB THEORY IN WHEELER/EVANS DEATHS

WHITE CO.—Amidst a plethora of phone calls, emails and Facebook messages, we felt it necessary to contact authorities to clear up something.

We were able to reach White County State’s Attorney Scott Webb, whom we asked to confirm or deny that meth was involved in any aspect of the murders, and his quote was “Absolutely NOT.” That’s all he would say about it, because that’s really all he’s allowed to say, as the prosecutor in the case.

The theory we’ve been hearing promoted is that Jacob Wheeler and Jessica Evans, while camping this past weekend, may have stumbled upon a meth lab in the area, and that Coston was the cook. As a result, that’s how the young people got killed.

However, there’s just no truth to that at all, this from the prosecutor.

So at least one theory has been laid to rest. We understand that we’ll know more as of Tuesday when the formal charges are filed and Coston actually appears. We’ll be there. But if we learn more before that time, we’ll bring it.
