COSTON HELD ON $3 MILLION BAIL, CHARGED WITH 2 COUNTS OF MURDER
Danny Coston, 37, of Centerville, is the suspect in the deaths of Jacob Wheeler, 22, and Jessica Evans, 17, who went on a weekend camping trip at a rural Centerville location and went missing early Sunday morning.
He is currently being held in the White County Jail on a three million dollar bail ($300,000 cash bond).
Coston is charged preliminarily with two counts of First Degree Murder.
Evans was found shot to death in the back of Wheeler’s pickup on Monday. Tonight, authorities located the body of Wheeler, reportedly in a field in Edwards County, located to the north of White, and several miles from the campsite.
Coston is said to have been suspected of involvement because a portion of the bumper of his truck was missing, and a person found it in a field, with blood on it. There was also reportedly a blood trail. Coston was met after work today by authorities, who questioned him. He allegedly confessed. The Wheeler family, gathered at their Centerville home tonight with neighbors shortly before 9 p.m., were visited by Sheriff Doug Maier, who informed them of the developments.
The law enforcement officers of White County have done an outstanding job in this case and are to be commended.
