PLEA DEAL REACHED FOR McQUEEN IN WESTALL MURDER
LAWRENCE CO.—As suspected before we even put out this current issue (August-September), there’s been a plea entered in the case of the Mt. Carmel man who has been charged in the death of Lawrenceville resident Bob Westall.
Tyler McQueen, now 21, was charged at the end of March with the stabbing death of Westall, 78, at Westall’s sister’s apartment behind United Methodist Village some time in the overnight hours of March 24 or 25, with three counts of First-Degree Murder.
Also charged in the case was Westall’s niece, Helen Marie Westall, 47, of Bridgeport. She’s charged with Solicitation to Commit Murder for Hire, by offering McQueen money and a car if he would do the deed. However, we learned yesterday it’s not quite that simple…and more will be learned now that Helen Marie has been found fit to stand trial.
McQueen is set to enter a guilty plea to one of the counts (we aren’t sure which one, and we aren’t sure of the specific wording of it) this coming Friday, Ag. 31. In exchange for this plea, it’s expected he will “testify truthfully” in Helen Marie’s case. Apparently, she’s a little more complicit than previously believed.
The plea came as a surprise, actually, as the state has no murder weapon still. However, the DNA evidence FINALLY submitted to the defense (George Woodcock and Bill Hudson) a little over a week ago apparently told the tale. McQueen was set to select a jury for his trial this Monday, Aug. 27, which we were going to cover extensively a la Brandon Jenkins…which is why we published early this issue (August/September), so it wouldn’t interfere with delivery. Now, we have a few extra days before we go slapbang into the next issue, which we’re going to start delivering on Sept. 14. It promises to be an amazing issue too; the stories we’re working on for that one are follow-ups to the ones in THIS current issue (August/Sept.), so BE SURE TO GET THIS ISSUE, either by visiting one of our vendors, or simply getting yourself an online membership and gaining access to all the articles and photos right here. Deliveries continue, as does the news, and we have a LOT of it today, so keep checking back!

*happy smile*
“Hi guys, I am here on murder charges, what are you up to?”
Can anyone explain that photo to me?
That’s all Jade could get. Every time he stepped off the elevator onto the second floor lobby, he saw her pointing a camera at him, and all he could muster up was that same expression. We have about four photos of him over five months’ time, looking EXACTLY like that.
Well, I guess the smile could be explained cuz he was looking at Jade…that’s enough to make almost any man smile…but still…just kinda creepy…
