UPDATE: SHOOTING IN DAHLGREN; NO ARREST MADE
HAMILTON CO.—What appears to be an intentional shooting occurred this morning in Dahlgren, in Hamilton County.
However, there doesn’t appear to have necessarily been a crime committed, despite the draconian gun laws we have in this state.
According to reports, two women, Mary Rebecca (Becky) Thomason, 39, of Fairfield, and her grandmother, Marry Bullock, 78, of Dahlgren, got into an argument at Bullock’s home in Dahlgren.
At some point in the argument, the fight allegedly escalated and possibly got physical. This was when the elder woman allegedly pulled a handgun on her granddaughter and shot her in the abdomen, injuring her severely enough that a helicopter had to be dispatched to pick her up and take her to Deaconess in Evansville.
She’s in intensive care at last report, and in critical condition. Yet, there has been no arrest. Does HamCo prosecutor Justin Hood believe the elderly woman acted in self-defense? We’ll see. If anything else develops on it, we’ll let you know. Thanks for bearing with us on this information, we’ve had our plates full trying to deal with the missing persons report out of Evansville; do keep your eyes and ears open for any developments in that case as well.
