A NEW DISCLOSURE IS COMING
Can’t get enough Disclosure? Do you live in an area where the piles of papers shown below aren’t distributed? Do you live in a county north of our current circulation area? (Crawford/Jasper)
Well guess what, folks. YOU’RE IN LUCK! because DISCLOSURE IS EXPANDING.
The first phase of our growth this year is happening right now in the Fourth and Fifth Judicial Circuits: home based in Coles County, Disclosure Heartland will be the new product to encompass news in Coles, Edgar, Clark, Douglas and Cumberland counties. Disclosure Heartland will be published by Michael Kleen, owner of Black Oak Media, the publishing company that brought Ang’s book Death Rides the Sky: The Story of the 1925 Tri-State Tornado to print late last year.
Ang and Jade have been in Charleston all day taking Michael around to the new vendors and advertisers, which they were busy establishing the third week of May. So far, the response to the new product has been phenomenal. Apparently these counties have been needing news that isn’t provided by the corporate media, which took over hometown newspapers in the past two decades. Corporate media—like GateHouse, McClatchy, etc.—doesn’t report REAL news. They give surface reports of local happenings….and gloss right over things that adversely and directly impact the taxpayer, such as corrupt government officials, egregious spending of tax dollars, favoritism by local government to local businessmen, all kinds of problems that mainstream media simply doesn’t want the public to know.
The first issue of Disclosure Heartland is expected to hit the stands by July 11. The print schedule for Heartland will be roughly the same as Disclosure in the southern reaches: roughly the middle of the month every month, with the exception of special editions. As well, Michael has the Disclosure Heartland website up and running, and it will be an extension of the print version, just like ours is here.
This isn’t the end of the expansion, either. Look for announcements of upcoming expansions and ongoing coverage…we’ll bring it to you here, and in the print version.,..and be sure to pick up your copy today of the June/July issue!
