GUNSHOT WOUND ON NORTH GRANGER, HARRISBURG
HARRISBURG—We’ve received official confirmation that there has been an injury sustained by a gunshot at a residence in the 500 block of North Granger, at about 5 p.m. this evening, 06.08.12.
According to scanner listeners, the subject is a 36-year-old woman, Aretha Coleman, who has been air-evac’d to Deaconess in Evansville.
Sources in the area have advised that this is just one of the shootings that has been at or near the same address over the past week. During this time frame, the shooting has involved her son including one that reportedly occurred last night at same location.
Sources state that “it’s not over at this location,” and that there’s been someone arrested, who “is just one involved but this matter goes back over a year ago; all the shootings over a year here in Harrisburg are connected, along with a few home invasions.”
Our source couldn’t elaborate any further, but we’re going to follow up on the whole matter.

Is there any word on who was shot. 500 block of North Granger, just off Baker ST….Go figure!
We STILL don’t have a name….Aretha, according to one source, but that’s all we have.
That’d be Aretha Coleman, I’d think. I have no idea about the shooting, btw, she’s just the only Aretha I know of from that neighborhood.
That’s what I just heard too.
It was Aretha Coleman. The neighbor here. Her kids were apparently NOT at home when it happened. We watched the Aunt pull up with her daughters before they put her in the ambulance. Some of the police were still out here (Including CSI) at 10pm.
This has bcom a lil Chicago……………

Haven’t heard. We do know that the bullet hit her liver and a kidney. It seems to be a pretty bad injury.
I’ve always liked Aretha, not that it matters, but I don’t think she was involved in the dealings. I think someone who stays in her house was. I could be wrong, it’s just my thoughts.

I think the thugs, just like to hear the sound of their guns. I’ve always noticed when they’re describing a shooting, they say, “pow, pow, pow”, kinda’ like a five year old playing cowboy.
What’s awful, in Illinois someone could break into your home while you’re asleep and if you shoot them, you’re the one in trouble. Where’s the justice?
To many Laws in Illinois Protect the Crooks.Why shouldn’t we be able to Protect are Home ,Property amd Family? This just gives them the idea that they can do as they please and get away with it as they often do.
We should have more Laws like Texas.
Harrisburg is becoming a cesspool of crime.
I seen on the News that they got a 22 year old black guy.Hope he realizes not only what he did but what could have happened and he would be in prison for the rest of his life.He could have killed that woman or some kids.
I wonder if he thinks this shooting was worth him being in jail this morning and will be going away to prison.

You know I live in this neighborhood , and not by choice ! For the last 3 months I have had to stay here due to loosing everything in the tornado , well………at least 6 times there has been gun fire in this neighborhood ! The sad thing about it is that the Saline Counties finest knows what goes on down there and still nothing is done , took an innocent woman being shot for them to investigate ??????Mrs Coleman and her fiance are hard workers , and good people , the son needs his ass kicked out of her house , he brought all of this on , I say hold his little ass responsible just as much as the shooter
So your contention is if her son had been kicked out of the house before, this probably wouldn’t have happened? Who would be responsible for kicking him out of Ms Colemans house?
I would say that if the son wasn’t living there this wouldn’t have happened ! And yes Aretha is the one responsible for kicking him out , but she didn’t deserve to get shot !
