DUI rollover in Gallatin County

GALLATIN CO.—Here’s information from a press release from Illinois State Police District 19:

A rollover accident occurred early this morning, 05.13.12, on Old Route 13 just west of Poplar Street in Old Shawneetown.

From Zach Holloway's Facebook page

The driver, Zach Holloway, 20, of Shawneetown, was cited for DUI as well as Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, Improper Lane Usage, No Proof of Insurance, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Expired Registration Sticker and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

Lacey D. Jones, 25, of Shawneetown, a passenger in the car, was cited for Delivery of Alcohol to a person under the age of 21, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt.

Illinois State Police said Holloway was eastbound on Old Route 13 when for unknown reasons he left the south side of the road and overturned.

Holloway was taken by EMS to an Eldorado hospital with injuries. He was later transported to an Evansville, Indiana hospital for further treatment. Jones was taken by EMS to an Eldorado hospital with injuries.

Holloway is a frequent flyer in the area as regards unlawful alcohol consumption; he’s been featured in many print version articles in the past. Looks like he’s headed for another one. More information as we get it.

  1. Nice of him to provide such an apropos photo for you.

  2. Young people, sometimes make some not so great choices. I’m sure family, friends, and loved ones are dealing with enough during this time, without someone reporting snide remarks. News is news. Everyone makes mistakes in their life, often more than one. Luckily, no one else was hurt in this accident. Regardless, that is someones child, brother, grandchild. Before you start running people through the mud, with your personal opinion, instead of just the news facts, I hope that one day this will not be something you have to deal with, if you have children, or a loved one. Yes I enjoy reading the disclosure. Sometimes the personal opinion seems a little to judgemental for my likes, but thats just my opinion. I pray that the kids in the accident are okay. Maybe trying to help people instead of make things even harder on them, wouldn’t be a bad idea either though.

  3. Do you think that perhaps someone photoshopped that can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer into his hand and that look of intoxication on his face?

  4. This isn’t his first alcohol related crash is it?

  5. Actually it’s been less han a year

  6. Who knows if the boy is even off probation. Didn’t he just get out of prison not too long ago?!!

  7. Well I hope Jenny Lowe isn’t too upset about her “close friend” I’m sure as close as they were it breaks her heart?

  8. Who is that in the photo with him?

  9. Sad thing is the police had to be well aware of the partythat these young adultscame from and did nothing to bteak it up. Typical GCO. They all had to knowabout the party. Small trailer, in town, lots of cars and nothing done. Just like the pot up on the mall. Pathetic.

  10. What’s really sad is this Lacey girl has a child & I guess luckily he wasn’t with them! Thank goodness! Especially on Mothers Day. Why has this concern not been raised? Driving a child around in a vehicle with no ins & expired tags & who knows how many times they have been intoxicated with him in the car! This should definetly raise a concern as I am a mother myself. When I found this out it makes it do much worse!

  11. Yes Jenny is older than his mom I believe but apparently he likes to have “friends” of tthat age “close” to him. And well all you have to say is the name Jenny Lowe that should be enough ::shudders:: V :oups:

  12. They operated on him this morning.I think to place pins in his leg and hip .

  13. Yea… He’ll make it hopefully learn this time. Drinking & driving is no game.

  14. @Inthemoment:..seems as though this young man is plagued with a perpetual case of “Let’s make another sh1thead decision that could result in my death and/or that of others.”…now that is a snide, albeit accurate remark… 8)
