UPDATE: SHOOTING NEAR OLNEY BAR; SUSPECT, FROM TEXAS, IN CUSTODY
OLNEY—A Texas man is being held for his alleged involvement early Sunday morning in a shooting that has lead to the death of a young Olney man.
Brandon L. Jenkins, 34, of Houston and supposedly in the area to hunt deer, has been preliminarily charged with Aggravated Battery following an alleged shooting at two area men on the parking lot of the Super 8 motel (located to the west of Friday Night Lights), are Chris Arteberry, 24, and Michael Scott Earp, 23.

Arteberry doesn’t have much in the way of criminal history, at least in Richland, but Earp is one of the repulsive Earp/Trout bunch who have all been in trouble in some capacity between Richland, Marion, Saline, Hamilton and unknown other counties where the family of troublemakers decide to alight. Earp’s most recent run-in with the law came back in April in Broughton, where he is charged with Aggravated Battery in the beating of a local man, Roy Kenneth Rector Jr. That case was recently set for jury trial in February.

However, it’s now been confirmed that Earp did not survive the shooting, so the Hamilton County charge will be a moot point come 8 a.m. Monday. This of course may spark a series of retaliatory actions on the part of the Earp/Trout bunch, depending upon whether or not they go after the man who perpetrated the alleged shooting or those who don’t ‘support’ their errant behavior….so Richland Countians, be on the lookout. They always look for any excuse at all to create havoc criminally, and our illustrious prosecutor, David Hyde, is right behind them giving them passes in court, reducing their bond and largely overlooking their badness, all because they’re reportedly narks.
That might have been what brought on the shooting, as initially we’d heard it was “some random black guy” that popped up from out of nowhere, shot, then ran off. However, now that Jenkins is in custody, we know that it’s NOT a ‘random black guy.’ Typical of Richland County authorities, no one is releasing the details of the incident, including what lead up to it, which we’re hearing has to do with the two boys hitting or ramming into Jenkins’ truck on the parking lot, then mouthing off to him when he called them on it.

Sorry to hear of anyone getting killed (possibly) but it goes with the territory…glad I got out of all that.

That’s what I’m hearing too.
If we had CONCEALED CARRY around here, this wouldn’t have happened….because these punks wouldn’t go messing with somebody from a state (North Carolina) where they do have it, they wouldn’t kick a truck they’d already run into, they wouldn’t go mouthing a guy they woke up from a sound sleep who just came here to go deer hunting. These fukn MMA morons think they’re “10-foot tall and bulletproof,” as Eliza Harbaugh said on our FB page….It needs to be ILLEGAL for people with a criminal record to join up with MMA. Look at all the trouble they cause.
And I’d like to add this: I’M CERTAIN NO ONE WILL REMEMBER THAT IN 2008, WE SAID THAT IF DAVID HYDE DIDN’T PUT A STOP TO THESE EARPS, THEY WERE GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMEONE’S DEATH.
I guess maybe I need to take a pic of that particular issue and post it to fucking PROVE IT.
I would like to know the whole story that led up to what is a tragic ending…but I know how it works around here, there will be 1,000 variations as to what happened last night…there has to be much more to it than a truck getting kicked for someone to pull a weapon and kill someone else, at least from where I sit…
I’m sure it’s going to be a self-defense thing because of the fact that the two punks were MMA fighters. I understand there were plenty of witnesses to the entire altercation. The Earps pick fights with anyone and everyone. So unless one of them can get busy narking to David Hyde about the latest ice delivery in Olney, the Agg Batt will probably stick.

Hi Ex-Doper….nice to see you here…those people are pathetic….you can really tell how deep the criminal element in Richland County goes when you see the type of people who come to the defense of someone like an Earp. I don’t know if the laws have changed much from when I was a police officer in Texas but years back a Texan could use up to and including deadly force in the protection of their property.
I know that periodically someone would shoot a burglar and we wouldn’t have any burglaries for quite a spell and then they would slowly start again.
What a lot of civilized people do not understand is that it is not respect of your private property that keeps some characters from destroying or stealing your property (or hurting you) It is the fear of what might happen to them if they get caught. Remove that fear and they act like a bull in a china shop.
Dennis is right,if these Punks thought they may get shot and nothing done to the shooter ,they would be doing a lot less Punking.

As I look at the picture of the two dip-shit associates I can’t help but think they still do not understand thug math. 1 loaded 12 gauge is greater than 2, 3, 4, or 5 MMA punks.
I saw where the brother of Michael, Flavius had written on Michael’s Face Book Wall, “Ride together, Die together. Bad Boys for life” and Michael thanked his crew for having his back. This was posted the day before the shooting….Apparantly, something happened a couple nights before the shooting. Sounds to me like the Earps messed with the wrong guy this time. I hate to see someone who comes here to go deer hunting, end up in jail for murder. Went to the wrong place and ran into the wrong people. Damn, what a shame. This sure as hell isn’t the first time something like this has happened. A person or persons think they can terrorize without consequences and pick on the wrong person, then that person ends up in jail. I hope Brandon Jenkins can get a good lawyer for his defense.
Sundance I would be inclined to totally agree with you on this matter. I think if the Earps caused trouble and this was a result of the trouble they had so needlessly caused for several years, then this man does not deserve to be in Prison. He simply helped clean up the community. I am not saying I justify murder but when someone is bullying another its just a matter of time before the bully gets what he or she has coming to them. I hate it for the families and friends involved but facts are facts.
