Sheriff’s son, daughter-in-law busted by feds on weapons violation
PUSLASKI CO.—The drama continues down south in Pulaski County.
Yesterday, federal authorities apprehended Will Kern, the son of the sitting Pulaski County sheriff, the repulsive Randy Kern, having indicted Will on a single count of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The indictment charges the same thing the state count did that was filed against him in May: that on May 17, having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year on or about October 21, 1998—Arson—did knowingly possess a firearm, a Sig-Sauer 9MM Model P226.
The feds have gone as far as to already file forfeiture against Kern in the case.
In Tara Kern’s case, she’s being slapped a little harder than Will.
Her charges read that from on or about Oct. 8, 2007 to May 17, 2011, she Aided and Abetted a Felon, Kern, in the knowing possession of a firearm, this time a Ruger Mini 14, .223 cal rifle; from on or about Sept. 25, 2007 to May 17, 2011, she Aided and Abetted a Felon, Kern, in the knowing possession of a firearm, a Ruger Model 10/22 .22 cal rifle; from on or about Nov. 20, 2007 to May 17, 2011, she Aided and Abetted a Felon, Kern, in the knowing possession of a firearm, a Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 gauge shotgun; and that she Obstructed Justice by Concealing Evidence on May 17 by concealing a Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 cal pistol, a Glock Model 22 .40-cal pistol; the Ruger Mini 14 .223 cal rifle; the Benelli Nova Pump 12-gauge shotgun; the Ruger Model 10/22 .22 cal rifle and a Romarm AK-47 rifle.
She also apparently has an Unlawful Transport of Weapons charge pending, according to federal documents. Tara has entered a not guilty plea and has been released on her own recognizance. Looks like we can see who’s going to be doing the rolling, although whether it’ll be on daddy sheriff remains to be seen.
Apparently Will Kern is currently being held by the feds after a detention hearing yesterday.
Daddy sheriff is reportedly facing yet another sexual harassment suit; however, we’ve not found one on any federal docket yet…..if it’s gonna happen, it’ll happen pretty quick, before Kern or the county run out of money. There’s no telling how deep this federal investigation will go, as it was reported back in may that Will was transporting weapons across state lines FOR daddy sheriff, and utilizing Pulaski County sheriff letterhead in order to obtain the weapons in the first place.
Randy has enough to keep his ass puckered for awhile….just add this indictment to the list. More as we get it.
