Is DOC brass losing it…? Guess who’s up for warden at IYC
HARRISBURG—We’ve just heard the most disturbing thing we’ve heard all week….and although the week is young, it’s unlikely this will be topped:
The Illinois Department of Corrections is considering placing Bill Peyton at the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg as warden.
Peyton, regular readers will recall, is the slimy perpetual teat-sucker who, because of his friendship with the Phelps family (David Phelps being his big buddy at church—Star Baptist—if reports are correct), is constantly being handed state jobs for which he has little to no qualification. And, in the past, he’s been the subject of several lawsuits, including one for sexual harassment and one for discrimination, the first filed through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the second in a federal court setting. The EEOC suit came about when Peyton was employed at Egyptian Health in Eldorado, the discrimination when he was employed as a mid-level flunky working for DCFS. Peyton’s work history lends NOTHING to either job; it appears as though the jobs were literally created for him. Such is the life of those who live by political favor.
Peyton’s most recent faux pas is outlined in the current issue of Disclosure on stands now; check out page 3. Seems Peyton had a laptop (belonging to DOC—Big Muddy in Ina, to be exact) confiscated from his possession not too long ago. Upon this move, he was transferred to the health department of the prison, where he had formerly held the position of assistant warden.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Peyton was escorted from the prison after an incident in the health department with a nurse or some nurses….and terminated, told never to return.
What the hell IYC is thinking—if indeed this is what they ARE thinking, and not just a rumor being floated around—is beyond us. You’d think that with an EEOC settlement involving women at Egyptian, and racial slurs being thrown around at a DCFS worker in Murphysboro that got him canned at that agency, might be a clue to IYC that this is nothing but trouble begging to happen. But they just don’t appear to be the smartest bunch; after all, they are keeping on John Mark Simpson, aren’t they?

That is a political job. As long as the governor has a (D) behind his name there will be people who are politically connected with the Democratic Party getting those jobs. Of course if a Republican was governor, then Republican Party favorites would be getting the job. Qualifications really count for very little if anything when it comes to these jobs, it ia all politics.
Seems as tho all jobs that have any political affiliation are treated this way…while it bmay be sad and wrong it is definately so! Dennis how ya been? Haven’t talked to ya in a while.
Oh, I am tolerable I reckon OF, been busy with that birthday stuff. I think I will going motorcycling for a couple of days.
Well I hope you have a good time…just be safe out there. People drive crazy and don’t pay attention, of course you of all people kno that. I think about the first of next week is going to be super nice weather and would be excellent for any outdoor activities.

No…but this subject got more disturbing when Ang reported to me that we’d gotten an email that stated Peyton was still employed at Big Muddy. Far be it for DOC to help us out on that one……
