Whiny dope felon’s momma popped with pot in Marion
WILLIAMSON CO.—A Saline County drug felon who whined to Disclosure about our readers’ characterization of him as “top tier” in the trafficking business has something new to whine about now: His momma was busted last week in Williamson County for a substantial amount of pot.

Janet L. Lawrence, 51, was arrested last Thursday night (Aug. 11) along with Charles H. Calisle, 50, both of Marion, after officers of the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group (we found out what that is…it’s not a Malkovich-related typo from The Southern Illinoisan, but is the Williamson County-side version of the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, only with less control from the Illinois State Police than the SIDTF has), the local SWAT outfit and Marion police executed a search warrant at 9507 Noble Lane in Marion.
Agents discovered and seized more than 16 pounds of cannabis and an AK-47 assault rifle.
Both Carlisle and Lawrence were charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with intent to deliver.
Lawrence has a criminal history in Saline County dating back to 1999, when she got into serious trouble over a bad check charge. She drifted toward dope and her last felony in that county came in 2006 with a narcotics conviction that landed her in DOC for awhile. She was involved in some debacle regarding a bank in tha ‘burg, apparently where she worked, but we’re unclear on the specifics of that….we’ll happily let our Saline County readers fill us in on that aspect of her history.

Currently, she’s under no other criminal charge in Williamson; she’s just enduring a divorce from her DOC-resident hubby, Anthony DuPree, who’s serving time in Jacksonville over multiple felonies out of Saline as well as St. Clair, Madison, Williamson and Jackson counties.
Her kid, on the other hand, has been described not only as a “top-tier” drug dealer in Saline and adjacent Williamson counties, but a “piece of shit.”
Nathan Lawrence just isn’t very well-liked by several people in tha ‘burg who’ve had their dealings with him. And if he is as badly-behaved toward those folks as he was toward us about a year ago, we can totally understand. The guy is just a prick.
He wrote a nasty email to us giving us shit about our run-up to the Raymond Martin trial, the interviews with “Dean” last year that outlined pot production in Gallatin and Hardin and other criminal activities in those counties as well as Saline. As is typical for lowlife dopers who for some reason have an incredibly high opinion of themselves, he attempted to impugn some kind of racial issue on our baby Ev’s parentage, which prompted us to ask him how exactly his momma was getting along.

I guess we she how she’s getting along now.
Anyway, lil Mr. Lawrence, 30, is currently facing a petition to revoke his probation here in about two days (Aug. 19) on his latest (2009) Saline conviction of Possession of a Controlled Substance felony. To show just how cool and above the rest of the dregs of those in and around his family he really is, he has none other than Granite City attorney Morgan Scroggins defending him. We’ll see how that turns out; seems they’re not playing with dopers too lightly anymore in Saline County.

So maybe this was what those Illinois State Police troopers in the green fatigues were doing Friday morning at the Cracker Barrel in Marion. I thought they might have been staging to go visit the Juggalo Gathering but it looks as if this was what they were on.
Actually in 1999 Janet got in trouble for being an employee at Old National Bank and stealing money from a customer’s account. I’d thought she had went on the straight and narrow but apparently not.
Janet was at Player’s with her ankle monitor on while on House Arrest from her sticky fingers at the bank…she never has been on the straight & narrow. BUT her mother, Bonnie Barton, has pull in Saline Co. so that always helps. So, I’ma thinkin she should have stayed in Saline Co. with her dope.
I had totally forgotten Bonnie is her Mother. I saw where Janet and her cohart were married as soon as the bonded out of jail. Guess that means they won’t have to testify against each other.

I said that to my sister about Janet being on the straight and narrow and she made a sound I can’t really describe with written words. lol!
A co-worker of mine saw the TV3 newscast of this event and said that she was pretty sure Ms.Lawrence was involved in a Civil suit involving the SCSD a few years back because someone in her vehicle was busted for drugs and she could not get her car back from the Impound in a timely manner. Does Mr. or Mrs. Howser have any knowledge of this?
Also Yes Nate is a piece ‘o shit. I can say that with full confidence.
As far as “top-tier” dealer, na. He’s just white-trash, not Tony Montana. He liked to talk like he was big shit but no, he’s just a punk.
Boy, I’ll tell ya, R.I.F….we sure did have a WHOLE LOT of people emailing us last year (when the Scotty Way thing was going down) telling us that Nate was “top-tier” and that’s why he never was busted…because “they” only bust low-level and sometimes “second-tier” (like Arnulfo Fonseca) people. Idk what’s what anymore…..
Oh, & about the impounded car….we’ve heard of this, but don’t have specifics. Bet we get it before the September print version, though!!
Well never having bought anything from neither of those two I’m not sure. But I have had run-ins in the past with Nate from when I worked in a Package store. Worthless trash to be sure. But the scuttlebutt from people I know that are pretty shady themselves (and have been displayed prominently on this site) all have said he is a nobody in the “Bizness” as it were. The Big-Dawgs are not really known to anyone anyway, that’s how they stay on top.
