Gallatin County Circuit Clerk’s office down one deputy clerkPosted by Jack Howser on Thursday, August 4th, 2011 @ 3:58 pm.
Disclosure has confirmed that deputy clerk Michelle Downen was let go from circuit clerk Mona Moore’s office last week; according to what we’re being told, there has been no official reason for the move. We were told earlier today that people were saying she was “being rude” to folks, but we’ve seen that gal every month for years and she’s never been anything resembling rude to us or to anyone in the office while we’ve been in there.
Moore confirmed that Downen was with the circuit clerk’s office for about four years; prior to that, she worked for former sheriff Raymond Martin (Moore’s brother) in his office through a Victim’s Advocate grant. We were unable to confirm how long she had been with Martin’s office before coming to Moore’s to work. Prior to that, we understand from GallCo residents that Downen had worked at a Shawneetown bank.
All manner of hell is breaking loose in Gallatin right about now; we have some more interesting things we’re examining for the next print version…release date August 24. Be sure and get this month’s current issue, on stands now, so you won’t miss a thing!
