WASHINGTON, Ind.—Add this one to the “unfortunately it’s a real story” file.
Richard Sanden. Could only get lucky via a telephone date line. Seriously. It's probably because he looks just like Tommy Mathews.
On Jan. 12, Geneva, Ohio, resident Richard Sanden, 55, was charged with necrophilia after police reviewed a video tape found at the scene of a drug crime (but what ostensibly began as a 911 call.)
Sanden was originally arrested on drug charges after he called paramedics and told authorities the woman he was with stopped breathing while they were having sex. Sanden claimed he did not know that Rebecca Whitehead, 48, was dead and that he tried CPR when he noticed she was not breathing. (News reports aren’t clear on exactly what stage of the game he noticed she wasn’t breathing, nor at what stage of it she actually STOPPED.)
The two ‘met’ via a “telephone date line” and had been “seeing” each other that way for about two and a half months. They decided to make it real and hook up, so Sanden traveled to Indiana. Apparently the two had been drinking and doing dope all day and when they got down to bidness, it was just a lil much for Ms. Whitehead, this according to TV reports, and she succumbed while allegedly under such influence.
As if it weren’t bad enough, though, when law enforcement went to review the tape found at the scene, authorities revised the charges, and Sanden was also charged with mutilating a corpse.
No news reports are going into any kind of detail on what THAT involved.
Sanden is now being held on $500,000 bond in the Daviess County Security Center in Washington, Indiana. They’ve got him on the fast track and he’s set for jury trial May 7.
The cause of Whitehead’s death is still under investigation by the local police since authorities are still waiting for toxicology and autopsy results.

YIKES! Some people will just never learn that dealing over the telephone or Internet with others they DO NOT KNOW is a very dangerous road to travel. I’ll just bet this makes a good story for the Discosure when it unfolds. I can’t wait to see what actually happened. We LIVE and LEARN, but sometimes we just have to do it the hard way.
All I can think to say about this story, is that there are some sick puppies in this world. And in the end, there was no relationship, it was just hyped up truth/dare game that slid into a reality position. the things people set themselves up for these days is appalling….it is sick behavior, and makes me feel like throwing up, just reading it. Read this week where someone in Indiana put lighter fluid in the baby’s bottle…..a tiny little creature who couldn’t defend himself, and he died.
there will be a special place in hell for these sickos.
@Boop…I must have missed reading that one, because like you, it would have made me sick. Indiana, like Illinois, has its fair share of perverts and child abusers. I hope I live long enough to one day see a vigilante group gather this creeps up and castrate them before hanging them by the neck until their body rots and falls to the ground. Or even better, douse them good with gasoline, light them up and show them what hell is all about. The lawmakers simply aren’t doing their job to make this type of behavior dreaded by all who even think of hurting a child.
No doubt, S&S is going to think I’m awful with mouthing this type of punishment, but hey, it’s exactly how I feel about those creeps.

Well, there I go into moderation again. Me and that old ghost are really getting chummy.
Something that always amazes me is how did he ever make it to 55 and her to 48 years old? I would suspect it was either cocaine or meth (probably the latter) that they were doing from the looks of him. This is like putting rocket fuel in an old John Deere tractor, it will really run like a bat out of Hades for a little while but then it is burned out and stops.
How can people that stupid make it to middle age? His defense will probably be that he was so stoned that he didn’t know the difference.

I hope you have read & remembered some of my comments about “Child Molesters or Abusers”? Look at some of my comments about “father of the year candidate” and what I posted about “punishment” for people like this..I feel the same about scumbags like this too!! Death during sex is not anything new…but why be taping?? More interesting would be the charges of mutilating being added..WTHeck? Wondering if she was dead before the sexual act even started?? Humm..maybe she decided not to give it up, things went South, he killed her, and got off on dead ppl sex…yuck. But..that would be murder and not mutilation of a corpse…weird and yuckie too…and on TAPE of all things…double yuck. :bloody:

@S&S…been gone, gal…just got back on. I think most people enjoy having a go at you because, Sweetie, you are quite open and frank about your feelings and speak your piece. Honestly, I admire that in anyone, and, especially you. You have endured a great deal in your young life, but you are a good person deep down and that shows as well. I see it. I’m sure Jack and Ang see it. So, Sweetie, don’t let them bug you. Not ever. No doubt I’ve got you by a few years, so when I do offer up anything on this forum, I’m trying my best to be NICE. However, when it comes to abusing children, the NICE in ME simply isn’t there…as you can tell.

@S&S…you know, gal, I guess I must be pretty thick, because I don’t see that I said anything that might upset you. Actually, I meant that as a compliment to you. You commented earlier about something similar, but then said you wouldn’t really light the fire, or something close to that…can’t remember exactly. Gee, Sweetie, I certainly didn’t mean to hurt your feelings in any shape,form or fashion. You’re a favorite on here and I seem to just get hung up with the ghost, maybe I’m the one that needs to back off if I’m being misunderstood. As I said before, I’m one that has no problem with saying I’m sorry, so if that’s what it takes, then I’m sorry. BTW, I said I wouldn’t let my lit torch get too close and if it did, I would put it out. That was on a recent story…the BIG ONE, I talked out was to have a Luau for “father of the year year candidate”! And, I do feel that way and would also host it here…

Jack & Ang are too smart – they have the words spelled out with spaces in the terms that get moderation too it seems.
Certain names and names of certain abused pain meds get you a time out with the ghost too!

At the risk of sounding morbid or perverted, the details of this case would be interesting because I would like to know how they could charge him with necrophilia unless they can show that he knew she was dead when he began to have intercourse with her. Now if the tape showed that she was passed out in an intoxicated state at the time that he began having intercourse with her, he could be charged with a sexual assault as she was not able to give consent but her being unconscience isn’t proof that she was dead.
If she is autopsied in Evansville, they usually post the results of the autopsies performed in Vanderburgh County in their Sunday paper, don’t they? If she died of a heart attack and not a drug overdose, he could skate on this but I don’t know all the details.
It will be interesting, for sure.
Could they prove that the heart attack was bought on by the use of the drugs or maybe he forced her to take them or slipped her a Mickey.
I would like to know what kind of drugs and how much they took.Was he out of his head while haveing sex and didn’t notice she was dead,or she was dead and he didn’t care?
I don’t know about you all but I am giveing myself the creeps.
Top Cat, I think this is like driving past an auto crash while bodies are being loaded in the ambulance. It is hard not to look even though you don’t really want to see what is there.
