Harrisburg punk locked up on Evansville murder charge
SALINE CO./VANDERBURGH CO.—A Harrisburg teen is being held at the Saline County Detention Center pending transport to Vanderburgh County, Ind., to face murder charges.
Pharoah D. Newton, 17, is being charged in Indiana with the murder of an elderly woman from whom his father was renting a basement apartment.
Frances Wolf, 79, was found dead in her home at 1321 SE First St. in Evansville on the morning of Oct. 3. She had died of apparent blunt force trauma to her head.
Henry Newton, Pharoah’s father, had been renting from Mrs. Wolf, and Pharoah had been living between his dad’s residence there in Evansville and his mom Cassy Smith’s in Harrisburg.
While in Saline County, Pharoah had dropped out of school and had been charged with numerous crimes, including vehicle theft—of both a car, and of a motorcycle.
As it turns out, Mrs. Wolf’s 2002 minivan was located this past Wednesday (10.06.10) in Union County, Ky., having been set afire and burned up. Kentucky authorities are involved in the investigation at this point.
Newton remains in the SCDC until he either waives extradition or, in the alternative, he refuses to go and Vanderburgh County has to file paperwork on him.
More in the print version, which we’re currently at work on (which is why this is so brief), to hit the stands in a week, Oct. 18-20.

Good luck! Its a tough road.
@Admin:
Amazing work on this issue of The Disclosure. Amazing work. Thank you so much for putting out there the opposing side to this story. The main stream press are quite adamant about having stone cold evidence that Pharoah was caught “red handed”. You are probably the only news source within the entire Tri-State region that will print the whole truth. The main stream press love their viewership so much they will print and report anything to appeal to the lynch mob mentality. (AKA Trial By Media) The more people are angry, the more people will read their news. Unfortunately that leaves Pharoah in a sticky situation whether innocent or guilty, and to say that race is not a factor ESPECIALLY in Kentucky and Southern Indiana is to deny reality. You have done BOTH sides of this story great justice. Hopefully this will help bring some kind of response out of the public to force the hand, through public scrutiny, of the Evansville Police Department. That way they can find the REAL monster that did this horrendous act to Francis Wolf, may she rest in peace.
Thank you CMills Res…Seriously, the EPD does NOT want us breathing down their necks…we know how to use foias and other things that media over there says “eh? whut’s thet?” about. Keep us posted as to what’s REALLY happening with this case, and we will keep printing the information as it comes in to us.
To Harrisburg resident Oct. 17. 2010 at 1:35 a.m. Let me ask you are you GOD? I think not! And everyone has done something in their life time that they wasn’t proud of including YOU! Let’s open your door and see how many bones fall out of your closet. Don’t make out like you are PERFECT! The Blackwell family has gone thru enough HELL without you and everyone else adding your salt to the wounds! They are a very RESPECTFUL FAMILY WHO HAS MORALES AND VALUES! How dare you and everyone else judge the Blackwell’s, Cassie Smith, Pharoah, Wesley or anyone else on the face of this earth. Everyone has a book that god keeps on who did what about not following his TEN COMMANDMENT’S and you, me, and everyone else on this earth will be judged one day and he is the one who will have the last say so! So you better start going to church and getting your self right. Now have a BLESSED DAY!
hay people r still at it.you have kids as well and you never know what will happen with your own. but will pray for all of our kids.so please try and put yourself in her shoes. yes it is never right to take no ones life. im praying for everyone.
Not all parents keep check on their children. Most these days let them roam and run wild, while some do try to find out who their childs friends are and what their kids are up too. It is hard enough keeping track of your own let alone someone elses.
everyone may have a opnion which is different from yours but does not mean they are wrong. Opnions and facts are two different things. It’s easy to throw stones. Just hope you have the facts to back your opnions up. Our opnions should be based on facts and not rumors. I don’t know any of these people but have formed my own opnions on what I have read. As time goes by I may change my opnion based on the facts. Why is it people tend to throw God into the conversaton when someone disagrees with you? God is not responsible for what happened. We are accountable for our actions. Just my thought of the day.
From what i have read I think that’s all bull that someone is going to talk Low about the Blacwell’s and The Smith’s.. Which is just crap but go on keep talking because your just making yourself look bad not us.. Yes all people make mistakes so i don’t know why you have to say the Blackwell’s and the Smith’s make the worse mistakes because everyone does!!! and You know what im proud to be in this Family.. So sounds like people need to grow up and stop talking!
Have a Blessed Day.
@CMills Resident I’ve known the family for years and for the most part they are good people. There is no way to defend what happened in this case, but that should not reflect negatively on the Smiths and Blackwells. Pharoah has been on this path to self destruction for several years now and it ended really badly. At least nobody had to go down with him you probably know who i’m taklin about (hint–Cassandra). Usually when someone helps cover up a crime, they also go to jail.
