Four-wheeler tragedy in Eldorado; one dead

ELDORADO—A four-wheeler accident in the Eldorado area last night took the life of Ashlee Smith, 21, of that town.
According to official sources there, Ashlee was four-wheeler riding with a friend, Tyler Gaines, when they topped a hill and dogs ran in front of them. Either she hit the brakes and flew over top of her four-wheeler, or she actually struck a dog, causing the four-wheeler to throw her (we are receiving two different versions of this; there’s no telling whether there will be any kind of accident reconstruction or not.)
Either way, reports are that she struck her head on the road, causing traumatic injuries. She was taken to the hospital in town but died shortly thereafter, this according to Eldorado sources who knew Ashlee.
Unofficial reports are coming in from two reliable sources (friends of the family) that Tyler Gaines received a DUI following the incident, but these have yet to be officially substantiated, and we may not know until Monday for certain about this.
It is the understanding of our sources in Eldorado that Smith and Zach Cullum, pictured (and initially thought to have been the boy she was four-wheeler riding with), were engaged, but that she had called off the wedding.
It’s also our understanding that Ashlee was a recent hire of Poor Boys biker bar in Harrisburg, either as a bartender or server. Our Eldorado sources tell us she used to tend bar at the Legion in that town, and that she was a wonderful young woman.
More as we get it…Our sympathies go out to Ashlee’s family and friends.

Just coming to speak my peace… I didnt know her well but Ive spent years in tylers barn with a former boyfriend… I can even begin to reveal the number of times we have all torn out of the drive way, no helemts, headlights or thought for what could go wrong. Her death hit hard for a number of reasons: her youth-gone, my friend tyler in tears, and I cant help but think… that could have been me
