Saline County scanner listeners report scanner traffic on a Saturday
Mailbox bashing, apparently....
For your Saturday night reading entertainment, we present Mr. Rogers’ Scannerhood!
This is an email we just got in while struggling to put the last few pages of this month’s 32-page monster issue together. This is the kind of stuff we call Bavarian Cream…while we work to put a wrap on things (the beginning and the end [of the paper, that is] this is the kind of thing that’s the filling in the middle…enjoyable while you wait for the finished product!
Mr. Rogers reports, while we’re hard at work. It’s a play-by-play of what was happening around 9:30 this evening, apparently in Raleigh:

If the Saline County law gets a report and a license number, they always call back to whom it belongs.
Last night and tonight the mailbox bashing is happening again and the license number has been told again. But no name and address has been given of the driver.
Now the owner has them at Strawberry Lane in Raleigh in a green Ford Ranger. Now its a Jeep green Ranger, belongs to the person who reported. Now they cant find them, 3 different law officers, they are looking up Strawberry Lane for the autos. Gave a license of not the vehicle.

The woman who called has them stopped and the law is trying to find them!
Scanner all quiet!
10 minutes past and still no names called in for warrants. I didn’t catch the license number myself but someone did!
20 minutes and no names.
License number/names! Address put on a 225 for a couple weeks. No name but sheriff’s department wants to talk in town. Even the dispatcher didn’t put the name of the victim out…5892k Steven W. Mitchell out of Raleigh.
Doing a field test on the driver, I think he was from KY…
WOW a name! 8310 is secure! Mail bashers caught!

Admin I figured you would of had something on here about chief mike kitchens son John getting a dui in old shawneetown last week by a trooper
Hmmm…didn’t hear it…we fall out of the loop during production week and depend on our sources to fill us in…thanks for the heads-up! Old Town, huh? Do you know what day, time of day, etc?
Speaking of shawneetown you should have heard the idiots on the scanner friday night. All we had was Coal Days but you wouldve thought it was world war 3. If you want to listen to comedy, liten to our boys in blue.

Our cops dont have anything to do with HogRock. Thank God, John has retired. We cat Fat Boy, the drunk, Boone, Mike Cleek, and some other young kid from Harrisburg or something. But then again the county never leaves town so we mght as well have them too.
I know what you are saying about the county spending a lot of time in Shawneetown.Why isn’t the time devided into the whole County?
I can’t see anything getting better since martin left.If anything it is getting worse.

I know Equality was paying $1500 a month to keep them out of town so the drunks at the legion could make it home without getting stopped!You can ask Bobby About that, he got fired because he arrested the MAYOR{Hopper}and got fired.So that was when it was Bayer town at the time. So im sure that all the townships are the same way.Only go if your called!And if you know who they are and ect! Leave them alone!Take like John MCguire that was weaveing all over the road from Ridgway to his house,He was tired.Thats what the Sheriffs dept said,Knowing he was one of the biggest drunk farmers around there!Bayer farms his land now because they were running buddies and still are.MONEY,If there is some to be made,You will find the same people and the same money givers!
I remember something about a cop arresting a Mayor several years ago .
I never new a John McGuire but I knew one that was named Pat McGuire .he was drunk all of the time.Don’t know if he is still alive or not.That was years ago.

Moonrner meant Pat McGuire. He was staggering home from Shawneetown or Ridgway and it came over scanner to leave him alone that he was tired.
There is more than one Pat McGuire living in Gallatin County, so unless the scanner gave the destination of where this Pat McGuire was headed, then how can one be sure which Pat McGuire it might be?
I think anyone that lives in GC would know which Pat M. it would be. Pretty common knowledge. Who said over the scanner to leave him alone? If this is true then we are far worse shape then we have been. I would love to know how many tickets were issued in GC this past weekend. Between Coal Days and people traveling to and from HogRock I would think there would be a bunch!

It is John and he lives on John McQuire Lane, same road David Woods lives on. Should of named the road Trail of Dope. I looked on google earth and there is a white pick-up coming down the road to 13.
Lives down by ole Charlie Wargel when he was still alive.Oh Charlie there was an onry one.That Mcguire he is a real winner to.
Well the mail bashers that MR. Rogers gave a play by play to,No arrests were made,Well no name or anything about it in the Daily Register,Must be well known people, KIDS,or DRUNKS
When did this incident happen with McGuire and who made the call to let him go without being arrested?Sounds like it is getting worse instead of better down there.
Someone was following Mr. McGuire and call the police because he was all over the road and I do believe it was Raymond Martin who told them to leave him alone that he was tired. Heard it on the scanner before Raymond was arrested.
