RAYMOND MARTIN UPDATE: PRELIM DATE CHANGED

"No, we don't do coke deliveries; you need Saline County. Here, let me get that number for you."
JACKSON/GALLATIN COs.—We’ve just learned that Gallatin County sheriff Raymond Martin’s preliminary hearing in Jackson County (Murphysboro) has been changed from Feb. 24 (as reported in this month’s Disclosure that’s on the stands now) to March 2.
He’ll be appearing in front of associate judge E.D. Kimmel instead of judge Kim Dahlen (as his son and wife did).
Also as an update: because the current edition’s Martin story was written about a week before the Monroe trial happened, we didn’t get to insert in there that Raymond has lost his public defender in his federal court case, Melissa Day. Day appeared at Tina Martin’s prelim on Jan. 26, and probably didn’t like what she heard.
Martin has been appointed a federal public defender from out of Belleville, John O’Gara. Martin’s tentatively set for a federal jury trial April 7.
More as we get it.

Oh No You Din’t Beth…TOO FUNNY !…BIG LOL
Love the caption under the photo!! What has Tina and Cody been up to since they have been out? Are they allowed to visit Raymond still? Are Tina and Cody still due to appear on Feb. 24th?
Yes, both Tina and Cody are scheduled for what’s called a “case management conference” on the 24th and I guess we’ll probably go, as there could be a plea deal in the works for at least Cody, and they will probably do something like that behind closed doors, then announce it at the official hearing.
We are THINKING (only thinking, it’s not out of the brain juice stage yet) about doing a special edition for south counties, which would be released on the 1st of March, so if we do, details of those appearances will be in it, and of course we’ll bring it to you here online just as soon as we can get it typed in and photos downloaded.
It’s our understanding from the various law enforcement agents we spoke with last week that Cody has been ordered to stay away from Tina. We’re not sure where both of them are living; law enforcement didn’t know that specifically. However, they did say that they’d heard the rumors that both Tina and Cody had been seen at Gillio’s having dinner with Radar Patton and Trooper Sauls, and they said that’s absolutely not true. They’re to stay away from each other for the time being, and apparently they’re doing so.
One thing that I do know about Tina is that she has contacted a lawyer and is trying to get custody of her 2 sons back.
Yeah but she’s got Greg Stewart. He’s not the most motivated individual in the attorney realm. He likes money, and he knows SOMEBODY in Tina’s life has it to fork over, so he’s probably going to be ‘thorough’ if you know what I mean. And the likelihood that she’ll get those boys back before she’s either reached a plea deal or is acquitted is very slim.
I don’t understand why she is doing this when she doesn’t even know if she is going to be found guilty or innocent. Is she that sure that she is going to be found innocent? If so, I think that is a little premature on her part. Why put these boys through anything else?
S.C. agreed ,I am not even sure she should be able to see her kids. I know that sounds kind of cruel and all ,but consider the charges she is facing, custody is not her biggest problem ,by far!
Maybe I am wrong but I think the Kids would love to see the Mother. They are to little to understand much other than Mommy is gone and why don’t she come and get us.
Umm. . . . They are 14 and almost 16. I think they can understand where “Mommy” is and why she can’t get them. I believe they are exactly where they should be . . . . with their Dad and Stepmother. The older boys are allowed to see their mother at their fathers discretion. This is exactly the way it should be. As far as the little one I believe that he is with “Mommy”. Furthermore, “Mommy” should have thought about the kids before she “allegedly” participated in a murder for hire scheme.
I totally agree sc. leave them where they are safe and have a stable home. What happens when she goes to prison.’oh”,lets see just uproot them again but I forgot she didnt know anything was going on.
By the way I hope Raymonds ex is getting satisfaction from all this he has made her life a living hell.
Seriously doubt if Trooper Sauls was in with Radar. Id say that was Radar’s protege Scotty Sauls. And I cant wait till they run out of names to whistle and the feds and the state come down on them. Oh Radar must know alot and be singing a pretty tune. He will get what is coming to him and his shadow.
Is Tina still allowed to visit Raymond in jail? Also, have you heard anything about how she is supporting herself and Trey, her youngest son that lives with her and her parents? Would she be eligible for public aid even though she is out on bond for such a serious charge? It seems like someone is having to put out A LOT of money between her murder for hire case and now her custody case. I really can’t see any judge granting custody to her at this time. I just think it is a shame to put these boys through anymore then what they already are going through. I wish Tina would for once put her boys first and do what is the best for them and leave them where they are at for now. I have heard that the Koesters are being very reasonable when it comes to the boys being able to visit their mom. She should be very appreciative to them instead of dragging them to court when she doesn’t even know what her future holds. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
We don’t know about her visiting Raymond in jail; nothing’s been said in open court and there’s nothing on file. Reason might dictate…but you can never tell. As for those two boys, we’d have to agree; we understand that her ex has been more than reasonable with visitation. Highly unlikely she’ll get custody; this is an exercise in how much a scum attorney can cost a family who’s more than willing to believe he can ‘help’ them, when in the end, after he’s wiped out their savings, real estate, etc., he’ll go to them with a bowed head and tell them “Oh Naas family, I’m sooo sorry, that judge just isn’t going to see it your way” and he’ll go on his merry way while the boys are by that time both old enough to vote. Yes, Tina should appreciate what she has right now, as it’s better than sitting in jail not getting to see them at all.
I thought they had two small chrildren sc.This is my thinking and most likely I am wrong.I thought they had two small chrildren together,Raymond had two by Wife #1 and she had two by another marriage.
How close am I getting?
Top Cat – Raymond and his ex-wife Laura have 2 children Cody and Meagan. It is my understanding that Meagan is living with her mothers sister and her mother fully supports this because she wants what is BEST for her daughter. Raymond and Tina have a 4 year old son who I believe was living with Tina’s parents while Tina was incarcerated and continues to do so now due to the fact Tina (an adult) also has to live with her parents. The two boys that she is trying to obtain custody of are by her ex -husband Mr. Koester. The boys are 14 and almost 16. Maybe this clarifies why I took issue with your statement that they wondered where “Mommy” was and why she wasn’t coming to get them. I am not trying to be difficult. I am just commenting on the facts as I know them. Raymond’s daughter is in a good place I believe. Cody (Raymond’s son) is out on bail. Trey, the young one that Tina and Raymond have together is with Grandma and Grandpa and it just so happens his Mommy has been ordered to stay there also. However, my problem is with the fact that she finds it necessary to drag everyone into court for a custody battle over the 2 older boys when A: She doesn’t even know how her murder for hire case is going to turn out and B: The boys are in a SAFE, loving home right now and she is being allowed to visit with them due to the generosity and goodwill of her ex-husband. That is why I am frustrated. The ones that my sympathy goes out to are the chidren whether they are 4 or 20. They have all been put behind the greed and agendas of the 2 adults involved in this. Yes, Cody is an adult but you have to think this is all he has ever known. Did he ever really stand a chance? My only hope is that the children that unfortunately have to live through this ordeal come out of it okay. That should be EVERYONES main priority.
Is it really necessary to make her ex go to court when that money could be used for the good of the 2 older boys? I think not. This is selfish behavior on her part in my opinion. I have been through a custody battle and in the end all it does is cause ill feelings and unnecessary pain for the children involved. Furthermore, the huge amount of money that these things cost could definitely be used for the good of the children. I wish she would reconsider her actions. She does have an opportunity to do something with this particular case. Take the high road and leave the kids where they are and be grateful that you are being allowed to see your kids (I am sure it is more often then when she was in jail).
Thanks for clearing me up on the Kids sc because I thought there were 2 small kids. One about 4 and the other 2 but that may have been some false info I got or confused with another case all together.
SC on your last post I think she had best leave things as is. At least she can seen them now.
In anohter case I see where they busted Little Dave Duffy for herione. The Fuzz caught him asleep behind the wheel at an intersection with a needle and 12 + grams of H.
Where did the Duffy bust happen, Top Cat?
check out realgcnews for the info.

When is Tina and Cody’s next appearance? Is it tomorrow? What is suppose to happen? Has anyone heard anything on the current status of their cases?
Is Raymond’s wife and sons court date tomorrow?
Yes, 8:30 a.m. It’s a ‘case management conference’ wherein the attorneys get together and talk with the judge about what they’re going to do next while the accused just sits there. There might be developments; there might not be. It’s very possible Cody’s plea deal could go through. Don’t know about any status change Tina’s case can see on this; but they might set a more definitive date/s for jury trial since she’s apparently taking it all the way.
So it is not public? Will we know what goes on?
It’s public, but it’s not going to be very interesting. Of course I say that, then something huge goes on during it like some explosive outburst or a plea of insanity or something. But it’s just courtroom machinations in preparation for the trial; all the ‘good stuff’ has happened—the preliminary—and from here on out it’s just a wait until the trial.
Any news on the Martin proceedings today?
They just started at 1 p.m….stay tuned…
What was the delay?
That we don’t know. They change the times sometimes with no explanation. But then again, there might be a plea developing somewhere…we’ll see here soon…
So do we know yet at happened today with Tina and Cody?
