[caption id="attachment_2531" align="alignleft" width="272" caption="Wayne County board chairman Darrell "Durrl" Stephenson, who might know why you can't just close a meeting to the public, but apparently doesn't understand what public documents are"][/caption] WAYNE CO.---It was a repulsive sight last night in Wayne County: county board chairman Darrell ("Durrl") Stephenson, who's shacking up with sheriff Jim Hinkle's office manager, Linda Jackson, was in the hot seat (that seat being heated by former probation officer/current county board member Larry Bunting) about remarks he made to Bunting last month concerning the sheriff and his behavior...which Bunting's wanting to classify as 'official misconduct.' Once again the ...

The other is his law partner, James Gomric."][/caption] BENTON---Looks like it's a go for Raymond Martin, Gallatin County sheriff, to kick off his federal trial April 12. According to court documents signed today by U.S. Magistrate Philip M. Frazier, Martin is still on track to have his federal drugs/weapons/conspiracy/witness tampering trial start Monday, April 12, at 9 a.m. before Judge Gilbert in Benton. Martin had an arraignment (advisement of charges against him) today on the superseding indictment that was filed last week, which ...
[caption id="attachment_2056" align="alignleft" width="172" caption="Tim Monroe"][/caption] SALINE CO., Ill.---A motion for mistrial and new trial has been filed in the case of Tim Monroe, who on Feb. 4, 2010, was found guilty of delivery of cocaine. Despite being out on bond, Monroe was held the night of his conviction and remains in the Saline County Detention Center awaiting sentencing March 23. His attorney, Paul Christenson, and assistant, Jennifer Cavaness, have investigated the matter and have produced a motion that sends a clear message to Judge Ron Eckiss: they believe "there were multiple errors made by the trial court before and during the trial, ...

Vinyard was sent home from school a week ago following what has been reported to Disclosure from sources that included students, concerned parents, and even school staff and ...
JACKSON/GALLATIN COs.---Once again, Raymond Martin has let down all his 'fans' in southern Illinois. [caption id="attachment_2444" align="alignleft" width="222" caption="Gallatin Co. sheriff Raymond Martin...on hold for another 30, probably."][/caption] The jailed Gallatin County sheriff, who's still collecting his taxpayer-provided paycheck (to the tune of $40,440-plus annually, along with a $6,500 state stipend), was a no-show in Jackson County Circuit Court today. Martin has been held at the Jackson County jail in Murphysboro as a federal detainee since last May, when he was charged with several federal guns and weapons charges. He is being held without bond on the fed charges. Martin managed to get himself hemmed ...
